Love a good Sale!

Sale time is my favourite!

I always keep an eye out for sales. especially for  things like clinique gift time at Myer (How I looooove gift time!) You can get so so much more for so much less.

Sale time is super dangerous for me because i know that even if i don't really want it (or i think my mum might maybe like it) I'll buy it because its a sweet deal. Everyone loves a deal right??

I've decided that my shopping has become obsessive and sale time juts kills me, i just can't stop. CANT!

But Ive made myself a few things that I must remember....

1. just because its a sweet deal doesn't necessarily mean you should buy it.
(I once bout a years supply of foundation at
a Myer sale because it was soooo cheap, and
it was worth it. Because i saved so much
money and still have the same top quality
product! still i think i may have gone
overboard!)

2. Don't buy anything useless just because its awesome.
(bobble-headed spider-man, Predator toy, Platform High-heeled-peep-toe-sneakers, various food products at markets)

3. If you can put it on hold. put it on hold! and think about it. If you still want it the next day buy it then!

4. If you see me going nuts at Chadstone on boxing day-STOP ME! My credit card cannot hack it anymore! Online shopping will be my demise!

But on a serious note...

It's the perfect time to buy your classic pieces for the coming seasons. things like a classic cut pair of jeans, a trench coat, new boots, a leather jacket. You may not get to wear it straight away but  if your buying in Australia, you should buy your classic winter pieces in Summer at the SALES! Yay!

In just the last few months I've been to great sales at Ksubi
http://www.ksubi.com/ ($100 jeans!) so so
good! Both my boyfriend Joshua and I bought two
pairs each. One in a washed denim and one
pair of plain black jeans. Perfect!

And Just last weekend Claude Maus has an amazing warehouse sale.
I picked up a beautiful soft black denim jacket (photos to come soon!)
Its my new love, my new child (so so pretty)

My tip is to join the mailing list for all your favourite brands and all your favorite shops.

You may need to rummage, but that's all the fun!

YAY!

Merry Christmas All.

Leopard in Love

I'm the first to admit i have an unhealthy obsession with animal print. Particuary leopard print. I love it. I know its bad but i just cant help myself.

Leopard print gets a bad wrap mostly because if its worn wrong it can look tacky and cougar-ish (yuck!)

leopard print can look great if its worn well (or tragic if its not). It's alwayse best to wear just one item of animal print clothing and keep the rest very neutral or block colours work well. If your going to wear jewellery with it make sure its all simple lines like Rhianna...

In saying  that Ive broken my own rules on that with devastating effcts. Always look in the mirror before you leave otherwise you amy end up lookinglike some tragic woodland creature. I cannot stress that point enough! the mirror is your friend!

Have fun!

Off to buy some leopard print boots!

Peace!

Tailored or Torn

Everyone loves denim. Plain tailored and beautiful or aged ripped and washed out.  I love pairing something with beautiful simple lines with something rough and aged. This is (sadly) done really well by Lindsay Lohan in Balmain Jeans.

Ripped Denim has had a comeback  in the last few years since its 90s grunge origins and I think the last few years is proof that it'll be around for a while. Now it should be worn differently. Less Grunge, and paired with a beautifuly tailored blazer or Shirt in  block colours to balance it out.

I think a huge part of dressing well and "pulling off" a look is how you wear it. If you go out confident in what your wearing you will instantly look fabulous. People DO notice. In saying that, there is no point wearing a pair of heels you can't walk in or a colour that washes you out or just clashes in some way (some reds and pinks for me). The best way to dress is not just following whatever disposable fashion is around right now but finding out what suits you, what makes YOU feel happy and confident and that is the only time anyone will get it right.

Thanks For reading,

Jessica Nicole.

Beige is beautiful

As you know, I love love love black! But i cant really wear black all the time. Well actually I can... It would just be a bit too boring. I love breaking up all the black with a bit of beige. wheather its a belt, a bag, a blazer or heels. Especially Heels they are a god-send! They can make your legs appear a mile long!

not to mention... they go with everything!

Wonderboots!

I think Ive found the perfect shoe! They arrived last week in my order from www.asos.com.
They are - DKNY Active Gillian Ankle Boot
USD$267.22

They have been worn nearly everyday since they arrived on my doorstep. I've even been working them into my work wardrobe! Not only are they ridiculously comfortable (On the first day I wore them I walked down many many many flights of stairs due to a fire drill). But they are clever buggers too. they're waterproof! actually waterproof (I tested them in the bath). Basically they are just fabulous gumboots. Probably not the most season appropriate purchase but I'm intending to rock them with my denim cut-offs now that its getting hotter...

But in Melbourne you never know...

Melbourne Black

Melbourne has always been known for its uniform of Black. However, every year without fail people come out saying that Navy is the new black, Turquoise is the new black,   White is the new black,  Red, Mustard, Grey... But it never really is. Black will always be the only "Black" because its always going to be new and fresh, it suits everyone, goes with everything, and makes you look slimmer, whats not to love?

I'm also loving Minimalism at the moment (and done in black is just beautiful!) its sleek and classic and looks great worn with grungy Kate Moss like hair and looks completely different when worn with a sleek pony or straight hair.

Claude Maus (http://www.claudemaus.com/)  easily one of my favourite designers
they do simple lines,  beautiful fabric, Interesting pieces, and cleaver draping and does this very very well. Let me know what you think.

Jessica.
